RACE STANDARDS

From tonites meeting here are the draft standards we have agreed to:

We will keep our "deadlines" consistent with MTB, so Form A will be required 3 months in advance, Form B will be 1 month in advance of event.

The Organizer shall agree to the following commitments:

Commissaires in place
Medical in place
Volunteers in place (for a road race (not crit or ITT or cross) should include "follow cars")
Permits all in place for location
A mimimum committment to provide water and some food for racers after race
Washrooms must be available within a reasonable distance from race area, i.e. a few 100 meters, and the directions should be at sign in table
Organizer is to provide results to the MCA (likely Road Co-Ordinator and/or Exec Director) same day as event.

This is an area I would like to see some comments one.

  1. How about standards for all road courses to be as free as possible of sand and gravel in corners? MCA has a blower machine that works great for this. Of course brooms work too..

How about a map of the course posted on the MCA site at least 1 week prior to the event, as well as race distances for categories? I know that race day conditions may require changing race distances, category start times, and what categories may be combined.. but still.. we should have SOME idea of what a race course will be and what the distances are prior to same day sign on.
